I've had two rutabagas sitting on the counter...haven't gotten around to making another
rutabaga casserole. They were starting to sprout and needed to be cooked as soon as possible, so I made this simple dish. I peeled and cut them into cubes then fried them in a heavy skillet over low heat with about 3 tablespoons of butter for about 20 minutes (stirring occasionally). A good salting and they were absolutely delicious!
I had rutabaga mousse, but not fried rutabaga. Looks delicious!...will try. I like all of your recipes. Thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteIs the rutabaga mousse mixed with mashed potatoes, mashed carrot and broth? I found the recipe on the internet in Swedish, rotmos. I'll have to make it! I also found a recipe on Livestrong.com for rutabaga mousse that adds cheese and onion. Thank you for the nice comment!
