Fried Rutabaga--Paistetut lantut
I've had two rutabagas sitting on the counter...haven't gotten around to making another rutabaga casserole. They were starting to sprout and needed to be cooked as soon as possible, so I made this simple dish. I peeled and cut them into cubes then fried them in a heavy skillet over low heat with about 3 tablespoons of butter for about 20 minutes (stirring occasionally). A good salting and they were absolutely delicious!

I had rutabaga mousse, but not fried rutabaga. Looks delicious!...will try. I like all of your recipes. Thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteIs the rutabaga mousse mixed with mashed potatoes, mashed carrot and broth? I found the recipe on the internet in Swedish, rotmos. I'll have to make it! I also found a recipe on Livestrong.com for rutabaga mousse that adds cheese and onion. Thank you for the nice comment!
